RAC Cooling Awards 2011

Glenn Roberts and Paul Anderson attend the RAC Cooling Awards

RAC Cooling Awards 2011

Last night Paul Anderson and myself headed over to the London Hilton, where over 600 professionals in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry were gathered to celebrate the finest products, projects and performance the sector has to offer. With entries from nearly every major name in refrigeration and air conditioning, competition was tough and we were delighted to represent Gram as one of only three ‘Highly Commended’ winners, congratulated on our excellence in design for the ‘Refrigeration Product of the Year’ category, listed as one of ten finalists.

Award-winning comedy star Russell Kane hosted the evening and kept the audience amused while announcing the winners. Guests celebrated into the early hours with The Sirens providing the musical entertainment for the evening.

With the focus very much on energy efficient solutions, Andrew Gaved, Editor of RAC, congratulated the finalists and commented on this year's awards: ‘The 2011 Awards are a fantastic snapshot of an industry taking its environmental responsibilities seriously and exercising its collective imagination to reduce energy and carbon’.

The winner of the RAC National Student of the Year Awards, which recognises the achievements of the best up and coming engineers was also announced before dinner and Scott Berry from JD Cooling Systems Ltd was crowned the winner. – congratulations Scott!

The evening was a great success, but was also the last time that I take the car to an awards evening, with 17 awards categories in total…!
